Iron Breaker 3 Chemical free iron filter, shown below (on the left) installed with a fleck 5600 metered water softener. These chemical free iron filters remove iron, manganese, and rotten egg odor. With the unique design this system draws in air and creates a bubble of air in the tank. As the water is used it drops through the air in the tank and oxidizes the water. This system eliminates the need for expensive chemicals.
The iron breaker 3 is $1450 installed. The savings of not using potassium permanganate will save $180 a year thus paying for the iron filter in less than 8 years.
